With the MCC Program, first-time homebuyers receive a Mortgage Credit Certificate that allows them to claim 35% of their mortgage interest as a federal income tax credit each year (worth up to $2,000/year). The MCC Program also offers an affordable, low-interest Minnesota Housing first mortgage, as well as access to the Minnesota Housing Monthly Payment Loan for downpayment/closing costs. Eligibility Requirements:

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are a first-time homebuyer
  • Have an income at or below prescribed Minnesota Housing income limits
  • Purchase a home under the $298,125 acquisition cost limit for 11-county metro area

Home Stretch or Framework (www.hocmn.org) required for borrowers with conventional loans or for borrowers using Minnesota Housing downpayment/closing cost loans
